The Durham is a restaurant, coffee shop, rooftop bar and private event space in The Durham Hotel run by James Beard Award-winning chef Andrea Reusing. The seasonally changing menus highlight the abundance of high-quality ingredients grown and made by North Carolina farmers, cheesemakers, brewers, distillers, bakers, and fishermen who are longtime partners and friends of Chef Reusing and her team.
Menus change daily. Please call to confirm specific item availability.

The breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus in the restaurant focus on elemental American flavors and prime local ingredients – like heirloom tomatoes, blue crab soufflé, dry-aged beef, raw and roasted NC oysters, and artisan bread baked with freshly milled grains and served with homemade butter – inspiring a comfortable, festive dining experience.
With an all-day coffee shop serving Counter Culture Coffee, house-made pastries, snacks, and lunch fare by day, transitioning into a restaurant serving melting pot and hotel classics by night, the dining room at The Durham is a vibrant all-day destination for guests and locals alike.

The raw bar & small kitchen menu on the roof offers oysters, clams, and cured and raw fish and shellfish cocktails alongside snacks and shareable plates like picnic eggs and steak tartare. Daily seafood selections emphasize fisherman’s favorites normally seen only on the coast, like porgy, sheepshead, and mackerel.
Sundays on the Roof – Someday: a daytime party with something for everyone. Starting at noon, there’s NC Oysters, Wild Shrimp Cocktail, Fried White Oak Pastures Chicken Biscuits, chips & guac, Bloody Mary’s and more.
In chillier months, the roof is enclosed, cozy wool blankets are on hand, and mugs of hot shellfish chowders, rich broths, and griddled sandwiches are on the menu.
The drink list offers hand-crafted original cocktails and well-made classics with a rotating selection of local brewers and authentic wines from small family producers.
