What time is check-in / check-out at your downtown Durham hotel?

Check-in is at 3pm. Check-out is at noon.

 

Does the hotel offer early check-in or late check-out?

We strive to accommodate your travel needs. You may request early check-in or late check-out by calling the front desk at 919-768-8830. Approval of your request is based on availability.

 

Does the hotel offer breakfast?

Yes! We serve a hot, a la carte breakfast for hotel guests and locals alike. Join us in our spacious two-story dining room or on our street-side patio to enjoy a breakfast menu highlighting the best of North Carolina from our diverse team of collaborative cooks and service staff. Breakfast, Mon-Fri 8-11am, Sat-Sun 8-10am. We also offer Brunch, Sat-Sun 10:30am-2pm. You can also find Counter Culture coffee and house-made pastries at the Coffee Shop every day from 8am-2pm.

 

What parking options are available?

We offer 24/7 valet parking for hotel and restaurant guests. Overnight parking is $20 per night, while daytime visitor parking is $10. We recommend approaching our downtown hotel from the east to ensure easy access to the building’s designated concierge spaces.

If you prefer to park your own vehicle, the Chapel Hill St. parking garage is located down the block, at the intersection of Chapel Hill St. and Rigsbee Ave. The hourly rate is $1.50 and the daily rate is $16.50. On-street parking is also available in the area for shorter trips, with most spaces operating under a 2-hour time limit. During the workday, Monday-Friday from 8am-7pm, these metered spaces run at $1.50 per hour. Parking is free on weekends and after 7pm on weekdays.

Durham public parking accepts coins, cash, and credit cards. In addition, guests can access parking meters via the free Passport Parking App. For more information visit the ParkDurham website.

 

What is The Durham Hotel’s pet policy?

Our hotel in Durham welcomes service animals as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Please note, service animals must not be left unattended in any area of the hotel.

 

What is the hotel’s cancelation policy?

The cancelation policy depends on the type of reservation booked and will be noted in the terms and conditions in your confirmation letter.

 

Is The Durham Hotel family-friendly?

We welcome children of all ages. Complimentary travel cribs are available by request, and highchairs are available in the Restaurant and on the Roof.

 

Does the hotel have any connecting rooms?

The hotel has a small number of connecting rooms. Please call 919-768-8830 to request connecting rooms.

 

Can I have a package delivered to the hotel?

What is the payment policy?

Payment in full is due upon check-in. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and debit cards. We do not accept personal checks; we will accept cashier’s checks in the exact amount due.

Upon check-in, credit and debit cards will be pre-authorized for an additional $100 per night. The hold on these funds will be released upon check-out. Processing times vary depending on your bank; normal processing times are 3-5 business days.

 

What is the hotel’s proximity to Duke University?

The Durham Hotel is 2.5 miles from Duke’s main campus and 1 walkable mile from Duke’s east campus.

 

Does the hotel offer room service?

We offer a room service menu, which you will find in your room. Room service is available for Breakfast, Mon- Sun 8am-11am, and Dinner, Mon-Sat 5pm-9:30pm. There will be no room service available Sundays after 11am. Monday-Wednesday room service orders will need to be brought up to The Roof. These orders can take up to 45 minutes for delivery as The Roof staff need to go down to both cook and deliver it. All room service orders include a $4 delivery fee and 18% service charge. Please dial 100 from your room to order.

 

Does the hotel have a fitness center?

Our 24-hour fitness center is available to all hotel guests and includes treadmills, stationary bikes, an elliptical machine, free weights, and a resistance trainer. We also offer complimentary passes to the Downtown Durham YMCA which is located directly behind the hotel and has an indoor swimming pool with lap lanes. Please contact the front desk for a pass. Is laundry service available?

Yes, please check the information folder in your room for a list of services and prices.

The hotel also offers dry cleaning service through a third-party company. In order to guarantee same-day service, we need to receive your items by 9am.
